More Clarinet Love
I got the chance to work with the local high school clarinet sections today and it was a blast. Loved every minute of it. The kids are so good - kind and polite. And there's a lot of talent there. It is good to be back in a band room again, working with great people and kids. I would love to have a big clarinet ensemble for S&E this spring. Such fun!!!

I Think I'm in Love
And it is oh so good the second time around. I first fell in love with Leblanc clarinets when I was in high school. I had a Leblanc L300. It was beautiful, bright silver plated keys, dark wood. Felt good in my hands. The case was a crimson leather thing with brass latches. Downright sexy to a 16 year old girl (and a proud band geek).
Then, I went to college and was told that a Buffet was the only way to go. I sold my L300 and purchased a R13. I still have my Buffet; I still love it. I'll never part with it. But. Leblanc has some dead-sexy clarinets on the market, and a young, incredible performer as the poster child for the clarinet world. I would love to get my hands on a Leblanc Legacy. Just play it and see how it feels. I think I know how a guy feels when looking at Playboy, because these Legacy photos take my breath away. Way sexier than the L300. I bet a Legacy would make even me sound good.
Lovely photos can be found here. And Here. And Goodness, Here. And here's the official Leblanc Site.

Had to show just a little hint of the voluptuous barrel...and the bell is just as nice.
