Abbie had a check up with his cardiologist today, and I went back for more breast testing. Fun day. But, after all of it, we both got good news. Abbie's slightly irregular heartbeat (dr. called it a skipping beat kind of thing) is totally normal considering the surgery he had ten years ago.
I also got good news. Everything is normal. I have two little cysts that have actually gotten smaller. The problem was that I was not symmetrical. The glands on one side were larger than on the other. Okay, if someone would have told me back in January, I could have explained that I was only nursing on one side, making those glands/ducts larger. I almost freaked out today when they did a round of mammograms, went to show them to the doctor, took me back again for another set of mammograms, showed those to the doctor, and then did a pretty extensive ultrasound. She left to show that to the doctor but told me to stay on the table.
Next, the actual doctor comes in and starts to take a look. I was nervous and starting to really worry. Then we had our baba discussion and a look of relief crossed her face. And my heart rate and blood pressure both started to inch down from the ceiling. Sheesh!!! I guess there aren't many nursing moms my age.
So, aside from sore boobs from having them totally mashed, it's all good. Thank You, Lord!!!!!
So glad to hear that all was well! I can't believe they didn't at least ask about your breastfeeding history, even if only to rule it out!
