Happy 2011

So long, 2010, hello, 2011.  I had to make a post for 1/1/11.  Just a cool date, and since I haven't left the house to write any checks or send any mail, this is the only way I'll be using the date.  A good New Year's Eve was spent with the cousins.  All four boys had a good time.  They are getting to the age where the three oldest want to play some kind of video game, and sweet little Jackson Wynn tries to keep up.  He's still too little to play that stuff, but he's chomping at the bit to hang with the older guys.  We didn't get home until around 2am or later.  I honestly didn't look at the clock, but thanked the Good Lord for getting us home safe and sound.  Lots of rain and lots of rain today.

Today, we had a traditional New Year's dinner - or as traditional as these boys will ever get.  We had peppered pork loin, BEP's with rice, green beans (the one vegetable my husband actually smiles about), and boiled cabbage.  And I made a nice pan of cornbread, thank you, Mama.  We even had cherry pie for dessert.  So, I think all our superstition food bases are covered.  The boys went outside on the porch and rang the bell so we could have a first footer.

I am ready to take down the Christmas decorations, but the boys like to have them up until time to go back to school.  Actually, the big boy likes them to stay up until he goes back to work so he doesn't have to be present for the big dismantling.  I'm ready to organize them, purge them, and store them.  And then I think I'll start on the toy room and try to actually get all the toys in that room.  They are all over the house right now.

All the guys are in bed and I'm enjoying a quiet house, though I am yawning a little and may actually go to sleep soon.  I may even fall asleep pretty quickly.  Thank You, Lord.
